Swing is a kind of jazz music that originated in America in the early part of the 20th Century. In the late 1920s to the 1950s Swing bands were hugely popular throughout the USA and the World. Early Swing bands were generally large bands with around twenty members. These bands would play in places such as the Savoy Ballroom in Harlem, which occupied an entire city block, and hundreds of people would come to dance Lindy Hop and other Swing dances.

Swing Beijing holds regular classes and parties at the CD Jazz Cafe in Beijing. It is located on East Third Ring Road (Dong San Huan), North of Chang Hong Qiao, and south of the Agricultural Exhibition Center (Nong Zhan Guan).
Shanghai Swing holds regular classes at The Muse Bar on Tuesdays and at The Blues Room on Saturdays. Click here to find more information.
